Yes, I saw The Dark Knight
After being guilted into the feeling of being a culture slacker over the weekend for not seeing The Dark Knight yet I ended up going last night. Going into the theatre I was a little worried that my expectations we’re really high and that the movie had been too hyped up in my own head, but it was as awesome as everyone is saying.

I’ve always been a big Zach de la Rocha fan. I was only in middle school when Rage Against the Machine was making their mark with “Evil Empire”. And even when the band disbanded I got real excited when I first heard the De La Rocha/DJ Shadow track “March of Death” released on the web for free in 2003. I though it may have been a glimpse of things to come, but nothing more materialized between the two.
Then I saw this piece on Pitchfork , checked out the myspace page and immediately was hooked to the sound he’s creating as one half of One Day as a Lion, a drum and keys duo comprised of the former Rage front man and former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore.

Two months ago my dad called and said we’d been invited to see the Red Sox game that night with some family friends.
Little did we know we were lucky enough to get seats at John Lester’s first career no-hitter on May 18th, as he threw 130 pitches, striking out 9, and shutting out the Kansas City Royals. I recorded the last out of the game with my cell phone (krzr km1).
It was honestly the best professional sporting event I’ve ever been to.
